One of the best ways to express our nature is change…….Change is nature!! It’s a constant that will take place and everyone has to at certain point accept it. A huge change occurring in our society right now is the acceptance of the LGBTQIA+ Community. While I won’t deny they still don’t receive equal rights and social equality amidst the society…..people nowadays are still trying to accept this community into their hearts.
But with all said and done do you know the basics of this community? LGBT is quite a general term used, however what the community wants to be referred to as is LGBTQIA+. We’ll explain as to what each letter signifies in the term.

L- The L stands for Lesbian

In general terms a normal person according to the society is a person attracted to the opposite sex. A lesbian however is a woman attracted to a woman instead of a man. She will rather have emotions(physical, psychological or sexual) for another woman.

G– The G in the term stands for Gay

A gay is any man attracted and has emotions for another man and not for a woman. Gay is a much more used term than a lesbian. Sometimes even women are referred to as gays emphasizing the base that a person is attracted to another person of the same sex.

B- The B in the term stands for Bisexual

Any person who can be attracted to another person of the same sex or even the opposite sex is known as a bisexual. In general, a man could be attracted to another man or even another woman. The same way a woman could be attracted to another woman or even another man. It is completely a bisexual's choice on who to date at a point!!!

T- While you think that a transgender

Transgender is a person with a man and a woman’s body organs, that’s just so not true. You are as confused in life as an engineer!!
A transgender is a person who is born with a particular sex but is interested to be transformed into the opposite one and hence decides to dress up and behave like their desired sex. *Note here that sex and gender are two completely different topics*

TRANSMAN

A TRANSMAN is a person who is assigned Female at birth but is later rather interested to change into a man.

TRANSWOMAN

A TRANSWOMAN is a person who is assigned Male at birth but is rather interested in being a woman.

Q- Q in the term stands for Queer

Queer is an umbrella term for sexual and gender minorities who are not heterosexual or not cisgender. It originally means strange or peculiar.
This term is used to term all the homosexuals instead of using particularly gay or lesbian.

I in the term stands for Intersex. Intersex people are born with sex characteristics (including genitals, gonads and chromosome patterns) that do not fit typical binary notions of male or female bodies.

Intersex is an umbrella term used to describe a wide range of natural bodily variations. In some cases, intersex traits are visible at birth while in others, they are not apparent until puberty. Some chromosomal intersex variations may not be physically apparent at all.

A- The A in the term stands for Asexual.

Asexuality (or non sexuality) is the lack of sexual attraction to anyone, or low or absent interest in sexual activity. It may be considered the lack of a sexual orientation, or one of the variations thereof, alongside heterosexuality, homosexuality, and bisexuality. In basic terms Asexual people don not generally develop sexual feelings.

The + that is added to the term is because by their own admission….the community which strives to defy 'normal standards' of the society finds it unfair to define any person under a general term. According to them, every person has their own identity and shouldn’t be confined to societal standards. Hence the + signifies the fact that any other person who doesn’t fit the general heterosexual category can add themselves up to this category and feel completely comfortable about themselves.
