7 Patriotic Songs To Add To Your Playlist To Celebrate India's 70th Independence Day

Our 70th Independence Day is around the corner and entire nation is gearing up to celebrate this patriotic day. 15th of August has a special place in every Indian's heart and everyone from Kashmir to Kanyakumari celebrates this day in their own unique ways. Though one thing which is common in all these celebrations is the music which is played throughout the country.

1. Make In India

This "Make In India" song by KKNKTV is dedicated to Mother India and is perfectly in sync with the Make In India mission of our dear Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The original lyrics of this song were written by Late Dr. Paramhans Ray in 1938 and some really nice additions were made to it by Lyricist Shri Krishna Bhatta and Shri Raghvendra in 2015. The song has a very pleasing concept and picturised very beautifully by Shri Raghvendra and sung melodiously by Srinivasa Sarma and Tina Kamal.



2. Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon

Any playlist about our nation is truly empty without this great classic by Lata Mangeshkar Ji. It was written by Kavi Pradeep and composed by C. Ramchandra. The song was first sung on January 27, 1963 and was a tribute to the Indian soldiers who died during the Sino-Indian War. The song is beyond words and you can play this back to back any number of times.



3. Aye Watan Tere Liye

This is another classic patriotic song sung by Mohammad Aziz and Kavita Krishnamurthy. The song was originally picturised in the movie Karma, starring Dilip Kumar, and has been a big hit ever since.



4. Mera Rang De Basanti

"Mera Rang De Basanti" is one of songs where you will definitely feel goosebumps on your sings. There are multiple versions of this song sung across generations. The one given below is from the movie The Legend Of Bhagat Singh starring Ajay Devgan. The song is sung by Sonu Nigam & Manmohan Waris and directed by none other than great A. R. Rahman.



5. Kar Chale Hum Fida

This is again one of those classic songs which has been sung by people across generations. The lyrics are just breathtaking and every single sentence and word has a deep meaning to it. The one below is sung in the inspiring voice of Mohammed Rafi

6. Vande Mataram

This is undoubtely one of the best songs by A. R. Rahman. Everything about this song is just perfect, be it the lyrics or the music or the video. It was released on the Golden Jubilee anniversary of India's independence in 1997 and has been instrumental in instilling a sense of patriotism and national unity amongst the people of India.

7. Tirange Ko Uncha Uthayen

This is another patriotic song by KKNKTV. Originally a 61 year old song, the lyrics of "Tirange Ko Uncha Uthaye" were written by Late Dr. Paramhans Ray, Shri Krishna Bhatta and Shri Raghvendra. It is sung by Dinker Kalvala & Divya Diwaker, music composed by AVN Pavan Kumar and produced by Shri Krishna Bhatta & Shri Raghvendra. The video is also really inspiring which makes it a perfect Independence Day song.
