Google has made a lot of efforts towards the digitization that the Government of India is aiming for. A number of initiatives have been taken by Google and many other plans are in progress too. At a recent event which was hosted by Google CEO Sundar Pichai in New Delhi, many important announcements were made. Here is a list which provides information about how Google is contributing towards the Digital India Campaign.
1. Google’s Digital Unlocked ProgrammeIt is a training programme for small and medium enterprises in India. With more than 5000 workshops planned it will be a great learning tool for start-ups and small businesses. Moreover, the training is certified by Google in alliance with the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
2. Launchpad Accelerator of GoogleMany Indian startups have joined and got benefitted with this programme. Experts from Google help these start-ups.
3. MyBusinessIt is primarily aimed at helping businesses come up with a website of their own. Mobile apps will also aid in the working of this tool.
4. Digital training programme for the Indian SMBsIt will be run in association with FICCI. Google has always worked towards bringing more and more people in India, online. The focus of Google on the Indian market can be understood with its programmes such as free WiFi at railway stations, Google for Business, Google Maps, a new Cloud region and YouTube Go. The company has also made efforts towards bringing internet connection to the people in villages who have never seen it. Indeed, the tech giant has worked and is still working a lot in the direction of digitization in India. Let’s look forward to what more new initiatives are being planned by Google.
